Trip Tips

When to Go to Anguilla

When to Go to Anguilla

Anguilla enjoys warm, comfortable temperatures nearly year-round, so make your Anguilla travel plans at your leisure. Keep in mind, however that the island’s peak tourist season lasts from December to mid-April; because of the increased demand, prices tend to shoot up considerably during this time. Those looking for a deal should visit Anguilla between May and August, when prices remain fairly reasonable and before the island’s hurricane season hits.

Weather

Weather

Anguilla is unique in the fact that it is a great place to visit year round. So when planning a trip, weather should not be the only consideration, unless a few degrees will make a difference in comfort. The average high temperatures on this East Caribbean Island remain in the mid 80’s throughout the year, with the hottest month being August. The average low temperatures remain in lower to mid 70’s year round, with the coldest month being February. With an annual rainfall total of only 35 inches, Anguilla is a fairly dry island. Even during the rainy season (also knows as hurricane season), which lasts from the beginning of June until the end of November, the area can still be quite nice. Tourists in general tend to avoid visiting during these months. For detailed information visit Anguilla Weather.

There, all government offices and banks (main branches) are situated. It is also located almost exactly in the middle of the island. Anguilla is 35 sq. miles: 16 miles long by 3.5 miles at its widest point. It’s population was estimated at 15,094 in 2011 and 2014 Projected GDP of EC$841.78 mil. Sports and Recreation

Sports and Recreation

Anguilla’s national sport is boat racing, which had its beginning in the late 1800s and in the early days of the 20th century when fishermen raced their boats on the return journey from the day’s trip. These fishing boats were the immediate forerunners of those now built specifically for racing, which became an organized sport in the 1930s. Boat races draw large crowds and are held mainly on public holidays. They are significant and colourful cultural events at which people meet friends, make merry to the beat of popular calypso music, eat barbecue, and sample the strong drinks of the Caribbean. Other sports and games in which Anguillans engage are cricket (a legacy from the early colonial days), football (soccer), volleyball, draughts, and dominoes. Lawn tennis is also popular.

Police and Medical

Police and Medical
