Overview

Anguilla is a tiny island in the Caribbean, 150 miles east of Puerto Rico. It is one of the most beautiful and least-visited Caribbean islands, with pristine white sand beaches, clear turquoise water, intricate coral reefs, amazing prehistoric petroglyphs, and more. Travel + Leisure’s readers regularly vote for the best island in the region. Your wedding will take place at a gorgeous private estate adjacent to the Aurora Anguilla Resort & Golf Club on Rendezvous Bay. The secure and exclusive resort spans over 300 acres. The estate is on a private beach between a golf course and the luxury Aurora resort. A wedding size of 30 people is the perfect fit for this estate, accommodating up to eight guests. We can coordinate larger groups with the luxury resort next door. Anyone outside the couple or a small wedding party can book rooms at the resort. With an additional (refundable) deposit of $3,000 for incidental fees (already included in the pricing), you are welcome to host guests at this estate. Rehearsal dinner or beach party before your big day. Wedding planning services are included and provided by our sister company Opulent Weddings. Visit their site to see their work at www.opulent-weddings.com.

Trip Tips

When to Visit Anguilla

When to Visit Anguilla

Anguilla enjoys warm, comfortable temperatures nearly year-round, so make your Anguilla travel plans at your leisure. Keep in mind, however that the island’s peak tourist season lasts from December to mid-April; because of the increased demand, prices tend to shoot up considerably during this time. Those looking for a deal should visit Anguilla between May and August, when prices remain relatively reasonable and before the island’s hurricane season hits.

Weather

Weather

Anguilla is unique because it is a great place to visit year-round. So when planning a trip, the weather should not be the only consideration unless a few degrees will make a difference in comfort. The average high temperatures on this East Caribbean Island remain in the mid ’80s throughout the year, with the hottest month being August. The average low temperatures remain in the lower to mid 70’s year-round, with the coldest month being February. Anguilla is a reasonably dry island with an annual rainfall total of only 35 inches. Even during the rainy season (also known as hurricane season), which lasts from the beginning of June to the end of November, the area can still be lovely. Tourists, in general, tend to avoid visiting during these months. For detailed information, visit Anguilla Weather.

Anguilla Beaches

Anguilla Beaches

Anguilla is the most northerly island in the Eastern Caribbean and is located at 18.2°N Latitude and 63°W Longitude. It is 193.94 miles SE of San Juan, Puerto Rico (55-minute flight). Anguilla’s zip code is AI-2640, and the flight code is AXA. Anguilla has 33 beaches, of which many have ranked the world’s best on numerous occasions. Anguilla’s beaches offer peace, quiet, and serenity, along with crystal clear water – a Caribbean playground for the young and the old.

Official Culture

Official Culture

Anguilla’s official language is English, but one may find that some words are not what they seem. To help you understand, here’s Anguilla Language 101. Anguilla’s capital is The Valley. There, all government offices and banks (main branches) are situated. It is also located almost exactly in the middle of the island. Anguilla is 35 sq. miles: 16 miles long by 3.5 miles at its widest point. Its population was estimated at 15,094 in 2011 and 2014 Projected GDP of EC$841.78 mil. Anguilla’s currency is the Eastern Caribbean Dollar (ECD); however, the US Dollar (USD) is accepted at an exchange rate of US$1=EC$2.70 (varies). Traveling with pets is possible; however, specific rules and regulations exist. Contact the Agriculture Department for pet, animal, and plant importation information. Call (264)497-2615 or email william.vanterpool@gov.ai

Sports and Recreation

Sports and Recreation

Anguilla’s national sport is boat racing, which began in the late 1800s and the early 20th century when fishermen raced their boats on the return journey from the day’s trip. These fishing boats were the immediate forerunners of those now explicitly built for racing, which became an organized sport in the 1930s. Boat races draw large crowds and are held mainly on public holidays. They are significant and colorful cultural events where people meet friends, make merry to the beat of popular calypso music, eat barbecue, and sample the strong drinks of the Caribbean. Other sports and games in which Anguillans engage are cricket (a legacy from the early colonial days), football (soccer), volleyball, draughts, and dominoes. Lawn tennis is also popular.

Police and Medical

Police and Medical

The Royal Anguilla Police Force (RAPF) has 100+ officers committed to serving and protecting. Dial 911 for emergency or contact the Princess Alexandria Hospital at (264)497-2551. If necessary, ask your concierge for a list of physicians. Anguilla’s ambulances are equipped with certified Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs).

FAQs

This is a wedding package; we strongly encourage no less than six to eight months in advance; more is best.

The items included in the pricing for the package are;

There is plenty of room for a formal dinner inside or outside the house and around the property after a beach ceremony.

The estate can accommodate up to 8ppl.  If you have a larger wedding that requires more accommodations, we suggest the bride and groom stay at the estate with their parents or bridal party.

The resort would be the best option for all other guests.

You are welcome to host your wedding at this estate only or incorporate the resort for larger groups.

Although a wedding planner is incorporated for your actual wedding day (ceremony and reception), for an additional fee, you can host guests at the estate for dinner parties, a beach party, yoga sessions, spa treatments, and cookouts...

There will be a fee for each event hosted.

We customize the trip for YOU from start to finish.  Opulent Lifestyle will assist you with arranging any additional activities or services to make your experience special, relaxing, and enjoyable.

Once your trip is booked, you will receive a call from your planner to set up a consultation call with you.  The planner will coordinate with the estate manager and (if necessary) the Aurora Resort for all the details around your wedding.

The Villa is a private estate; you are welcome to cook meals.  We also provide a list of local restaurants and bars within 5 to 30 minutes' driving distance in your welcome packet.

The activities listed are available to you through our resources and not with the resort.  The pricing may vary for this package depending on solo or group services.  It's best to select the items of interest as an inquiry; this way, a quote can be provided for your final billing.

*Please note the services are separate from the resort offers unless it's for golfing.

In a post-pandemic world, travel has changed. We highly recommend travel and wedding insurance. After your initial deposit has been created, we will provide you with recommendations on coverage options.

Anguilla is a low-key, quiet destination where travelers come to enjoy the beaches, relaxation, and water sports.  However, if you wish to plan a party of any sort, we are happy to accommodate; we ask that you please be respectful to the area and the property.

The additional $3,000 towards your deposit is for incidental fees, which are refundable after your check-out date.  Please allow 5-10 business days depending on your bank, for the funds to show up on the credit card issued.

No.  For this property, pets are not allowed.

The house is a non-smoker's house. We kindly ask that you do not smoke inside the Estate! You can indulge it outside, but please keep it clean.

Shiloh Estate’s cleaning team has received sensitization and educational training to ensure awareness of the risks that exist to minimize exposure to COVID-19.

Daily housekeeping is offered 6 days a week for a few hours, from 10am – 2pm. Alternate arrangements can be made through the Estate Manager.

If you need a cleaning service 7 days a week, please let us know, and we will arrange this at an extra charge.

By everyone selecting in advance on what activities or excursions interest them, a list will be generated and provided to all the sources for proper booking.  The planner will oversee this for your group but only responsible for coordinating the whole group activities.
